PORTSMOUTH - Ray Douglas Horsley, 92 of Portsmouth, as now passes Friday, June 23, 2023 at SOMC Hospice. He was born April 14, 1931 in New Boston, a son of the late George W. and Virgie Luther (Wright) Horsley, he was a retired machinist for Timken Roller Bearing in Columbus. He was a member of Lucasville Mason Lodge #465, Fairview Missionary Baptist Church and at one time a member of International Foresters. Ray was a U.S. Navy veteran.

MINFORD — James Edward Slusher, 69, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Saturday June 24, 2023. He was born on July 24, 1953 to the late Ova and Rurie (Rigsby) Slusher in Portsmouth, Ohio. James or Jimmy, as his family and friends would call him was a retired Boilermaker out of Local 105 in Piketon, Ohio. He enjoyed fishing, riding horses, collecting guns and spending time with his family. Jim will be missed in the 4H community. He supported the Silver Spurs 4H club since his children were involved. He felt like every child should have the opportunity to ride a horse. He will be missed by so many. He had a huge personality and he never met a stranger. He had a way of making anyone he was around feel special and loved.
