JAMES E. ‘JIMMY’ SLUSHER

MINFORD — James Edward Slusher, 69, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Saturday June 24, 2023. He was born on July 24, 1953 to the late Ova and Rurie (Rigsby) Slusher in Portsmouth, Ohio. James or Jimmy, as his family and friends would call him was a retired Boilermaker out of Local 105 in Piketon, Ohio. He enjoyed fishing, riding horses, collecting guns and spending time with his family. Jim will be missed in the 4H community. He supported the Silver Spurs 4H club since his children were involved. He felt like every child should have the opportunity to ride a horse. He will be missed by so many. He had a huge personality and he never met a stranger. He had a way of making anyone he was around feel special and loved.

He leaves behind Mary (Ackerman) Slusher his love. They wed, on March 15th 1975. His Children, Todd Colley, Tena and Jerud Pierce, Clint and Tiffany (Brower) Slusher, Cora and Brent Essman, and Roxie Slusher all of Minford. His Grandchildren, JD Colley, Stevie and Marissa Eichenlaub, Ivan Pierce, Wyatt Pierce, Kaylee Essman, Hayden Slusher, Brooklyn Pierce, Kasey Essman, and Shaylynn Slusher. His Great Grandchildren, Nicholas Colley II, Audia Colley, Iveigh Pierce, and Ava Colley.His siblings Debbie and Dan Montgomery, Jill and Mike Jordan, Rose and Herb Jordan, and Kim Fyffe. His dear cousin William Conley and so many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces, Nephews, and friends that were like family. He loved you all so much and was so proud of his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents Ova and Rurie Slusher, brothers Sam Slusher and Rob Fyffe, his son Steve Eichenlaub, and his grandson Nicholas Colley.

A Celebration of Jim’s Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 28th at Living Faith Nazarene Church. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to the service and from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. after the service. Arrangements are under the direction of Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford.
