PORTSMOUTH—The Portsmouth Little Theatre (PLT) is wrapping up its season shortly with its biggest show of the 2023-2024 lineup, The Shawshank Redemption. This season finale comes after the theatre closed on its Texas-sized comedy, Honky Tonk Hissy Fit, that just took final bows last weekend.

PORTSMOUTH—One of Portsmouth’s fastest-growing non-profits, The Trillium Project, only made its name known a few years ago with the mission to provide more equitable public arts projects to the community. The group has done a bit in the warmer months, where they could hit the streets and create opportunities for the community without the hindrance of bad weather. In the colder months, their time has been spent planning and coming up with a massive overhaul in how the community may see art in the future, especially with its massive plan known as Second Glance.

SSU Free Tuition program makes college possible for Wellston native
PORTSMOUTH- Toni Bartlett, a Wellston, Ohio native, knew that Shawnee State University was the perfect choice to further her education when she received a Free Tuition scholarship award. Working towards an associate’s degree in Dental Hygiene and a bachelor’s degree in Health Science, she has big aspirations for her future – Bartlett hopes to use the education she receives at SSU to give back to her community.
