NS Christmas Caboose making a stop Dec. 1
Norfolk Southern Railroad is bringing back its Christmas Caboose this year, free to the public. The caboose stop will be a one-day event from 2 to 6 p.m., behind Buffalo Wild Wings, 1611 Chillicothe St., Portsmouth. Visitors will be able to go on the caboose and see the big man himself, Santa Claus. Hot chocolate and cookies will be provided.

Bill introduced to strengthen Black Lung benefits program
WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown has introduced the Black Lung Benefits Improvement Act to help miners who have suffered from ‘black lung’ disease and their survivors access the workers compensation they are entitled to receive under the Black Lung Benefits Program. This legislation would ease the burdens preventing miners and their survivors from accessing the totality of their benefits such as lengthy processing times, lack of a legal representative, and inflation.
