SCIOTO COUNTY- The Republican parties of both Scioto and Adams counties have voted to endorse current State Rep. Justin Pizzulli in the upcoming primary for the 90th district of the Ohio House of Representatives.

Pizzulli was appointed to the seat in May by the Speaker of the House of Representatives after the governor appointed elected representative Brian Baldridge director of the Ohio Department of Agriculture.

“Its an honor to receive the support of Republicans from across the 90th district. This race is about providing hard-working Southern Ohioans with the conservative leadership they deserve in Columbus,” Pizzulli said. “We’ve gotten a lot done in the last year, like lowering the state income tax, stopping China from buying land in Ohio, and vetoing Gov. DeWin’s attempt to allow for gender mutilation surgery for minors and men in women’s sports.

“But we have so much more to do. I love our community and I will continue to work hard to earn your vote on March 19th.”

Also running for the seat in the GOP primary is Gina Collinsworth, of West Portsmouth, who ran against both Pizzulli and Baldridge in the primary originally won by Baldridge.

The deadline to register to vote in the March 19 primary election is Feb. 20.
