PALS Yardsale Scheduled

PORTSMOUTH — PALS, Inc. (Portsmouth Area Ladies) will hold an Attic Sale on June 2 and 3 at All Saints Episcopal Church, 610 Fourth St. Sale hours are set for 4 – 7 p.m. Thursday and from 8 am until noon Friday.

A special highlight of the Attic Sale will be a large selection of table linens, centerpieces, candle holders and decorative items. The fundraiser will also feature high-quality, gently-used clothing for women, men and children in a variety of sizes and styles. Much of the clothing will be suitable for working women’s wardrobes as well as casual and dressy occasions. All clothing will be for sale at very modest prices.

Along with clothing, shoes, purses, household goods, small appliances, toys and books and other items will be for sale at bargain rates. Baked goods and soft drinks will be offered for sale.

All proceeds from the sale will benefit community needs. Through a grant application process, the group uses funds raised each year to support nonprofit organizations with a wide variety of concerns including Scioto County food pantries, Counseling Center drug and rehabilitation programs, Southern Ohio Medical Center projects, the Ohio Valley American Red Cross, Scioto County Children’s Services, cystic fibrosis, autism and Area Agency on Aging, along with other nonprofits like the Portsmouth Area Arts Council, the Portsmouth Public Library, the Southern Ohio Museum’s Cirque d’Art Theatre and many more.

Working to improve the quality of life in the local area, PALS has given more than $50,000 to community causes since the group was founded in 2007.
