The 14th Annual Rarden Whitetail Deer Festival is set to take place Sept. 11-13 at the Rarden Community Park. The festival schedule has been filled with activities and entertainment for the entire family.
Activities for the first day of the festival Friday, Sept. 11, include opening ceremonies scheduled to take place at 5:30 p.m. The festival queen pageant will take place at 6 p.m. on the main stage. Other evening activities include a karaoke contest from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m The Fancy Free Cloggers will perform at the South Shelter from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. The evening’s entertainment will be a performance by the Beechy Creek Band at 9:30 p.m.
The exhibits, vendors and crafts area will open at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 12. At 10 a.m. the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, Division of Watercraft will hold a water safety demonstration in the south park. At the same time a three on three basketball tournament will occur in the community center gym and a baby contest will take place on the festival main stage.
From 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. the Lil’ Buck and Lil’ Miss Doe contest will take place at the festival main stage. From 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. the Rejoice Cloggers will perform at the south shelter At 4:30 p.m. a shot gun competition will take place in the south field. A Power Wheels Mud Run will take place in the south park at 5:30 p.m. Then from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. the group The Dusty Trails will perform on the festival main stage. At 9:30 the group God’s Dirt will perform on the festival main stage.
On Sunday, Sept. 13, there will be a youth three on three basketball tournament on the community center gym at 10 a.m. The festival parade will start at 3 p.m. with the route following Main Street in the village. After the parade activities include an awards presentation, auction, and a closing ceremony.
