St. Mary’s taking donations for W. Va. flood victims

St. Mary’s Church located at 524 Sixth Street Portsmouth will be accepting donations on the church parking lot for West Virginia flood relief victims. Father Adam Spreipenberger has made the church parking lot available Sunday, July 3, from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

They are accepting cleaning supplies such as:

Bleach, buckets and mops, dish soap- dawn or another concentrated dish soap, flashlights with batteries, rubber gloves-men and woman rubber boots- men and woman, heavy duty garbage bags, paper towels, washing detergent

Personal Hygiene items:

Toothpaste, toothbrushes for adults and children, body soap, deodorant, shampoo and conditioners, women’s sanitary products, toilet paper, totes to carry items.

Other items:

Cat and dog food, diapers, paper, plates and bowls, plastic silverware, non perishable food items, bottled water, gallon jugs of water.

Scott Moving Company, 1330 Grandview Avenue in Portsmouth is donating a truck for the items. This company will also be providing the driver to transport the goods on Monday, July 4, to Charleston, W.Va. The drop off location is Mountain Mission in Charleston.
