Fugitive apprehended

A fugitive wanted on warrants issued by two jurisdictions has been arrested, Robert Gene Collier, 37, of 3192 McNamer Brown Road in Lucasville was arrested on Tuesday and materials used to create drugs were confiscated in that arrest.

Scioto County Sheriff Marty V. Donini said Collier was arrested on warrants issued by the courts of Scioto County Common Pleas Court and Pike County Common Pleas Court for violating felony probation.

At around 10:20 a.m.,Tuesday detectives from the sheriff’s office along with probation officers from the Scioto County Common Pleas Court Adult Probation Department apprehended Collier at his McNamer Brown Road residence.

Officers said they discovered materials used in the production of methamphetamine and requested detectives with the Southern Ohio Drug Task Force to respond. Task force detectives said they removed a hydrogen chloride gas generator and additional evidence from the residence.

Collier was placed in the Scioto County Jail and is being held without bail.

Donini said a case against Collier will be forwarded to the Scioto County Prosecutor’s Office to be presented to a Scioto County grand jury for the consideration of felony charges related to methamphetamine production.
