Lady Indians chop down Oaks, 9-1

The Valley Lady Indians gained a win over the Oak Hill Lady Oaks Wednesday evening at Oak Hill High School.

After each team scored a run in the first inning, the Lady Indians would add another eight runs throughout the rest of the game, to get a 9-1 win over the Lady Oaks.

Faith Brown went the entire distance Wednesday pitching all seven innings, while only giving up three hits, one run, earned, and a single run. She also struck out eight Oak Hill batters during the game.

Marissa Markins was perfect from the plate in the win over Oak Hill. She went 4-4 with two RBIs, a double, and scored one run.

Brown aided her own cause, by use of the bat, going 3-4 against the Lady Oaks. She drove in three runs, and scored once.

Keana Schackart was also 3-4 Wednesday, as she drove in a run, and scored once.

Amber Altman was also effective with the bat, as the Valley shortstop went 2-4 and scored two runs, while driving in one.

The Lady Oaks and Lady Indians will face each other again on Friday in Lucasville. First pitch is set for 5:00 p.m.
