Terry Johnson seeks fourth term

State Representative Terry Johnson (R-McDermott) says he is seeking his fourth and final term as representative for the state’s 90th district which includes Scioto County. Johnson made the announcement in an exclusive interview Friday with the Daily Times.

“This morning I filed my candidacy petitions at the Scioto County Courthouse,” Johnson said. “In November of 2016 I will ask the voters of the 90th Ohio House District to return me to this office for a fourth and final time.”

Johnson said, should voters re-elect him – “I pledge that I will continue to work my heart out for the good people of this great district and for my beloved state of Ohio.”

When Johnson first arrived in Columbus as a junior representative he sponsored landmark legislation that eventually put more pressure on pain clinics than they could handle, and all of them either went out of business because of the regulations created in that bill or were shut down by authorities.

Johnson was recently honored by the Ohio Alliance of Recovery Providers (OARP) as one of the 2015 Legislators of the Year. Johnson was joined in that recognition by Rep. Denise Driehaus (D-Cincinnati) and Senator Dave Burke (R-Marysville).

He served in the Ohio Army National Guard, attaining the rank of Colonel.
