MINFORD — Jason and Megan Noble are elated about the opening of their new business, Noble Family Farms — located at 10960 St. 335 in Minford. Noble Farms is set to open Sept. 12 through Nov. 1 for the 2015 fall season.
Noble Farms is situated on five acres of land where families can spend the day exploring the Mega Corn Maze, or the smaller Mini Corn Maze. Visitors can also pick their favorite pumpkin form a large pumpkin patch on the farm.
“It is an agri-tourism, entertainment business. Basically, it is a corn maze, a pumpkin patch, a fall entertainment venue, or attraction that people tend to go to in the fall, and is all combined in one location, Jason Noble said.
He said they are anticipating a great time to be had by all who visit Noble Farms.
“So what we’re going to do is just have a good, fun family time that people can come and enjoy, and let their kids come and play and have a great time,” he said.”It was something that was just lacking in our area.”
The land which Noble Farms is located on has been in the Noble family for more than a century.
“This is our first go of it. We have been working on it since probably last fall, collecting supplies and things like that,” he said. “The land however, has been in my family for a long time; 120 years I think. Traditionally, it has just been used as farm land, but we decided to take the back portion of the farm and doing something with it.”
Noble Farms is fully-loaded with a host family oriented activities.
“We have pedal carts that are huge, they can handle a full-seized man up to 300 pounds,” he said.
He said families can race on their tricycle track and pedal cart track.
Other activities to indulge in at Noble Farms include pumpkin carving and painting, fruit-flying with their apple-launchers, and enjoy a ride on the 5 forty foot hillside slides. There is also a massive play area for children which includes a large play set, corn pit, tire swings, and hay mountain.
The massive support they have received from various people throughout the community, as well as friends and family has been priceless.
“It hasn’t been as bad as we thought. Everywhere we’ve turned we’ve had people helping out and lending a hand, as far as manual labor to different goods and services that we couldn’t do on our own,” he said. “People have really bought into this, and it is really exciting when you have a community, or really a whole area supporting you. I just can’t say enough about our friends and family, and church members. We’ve had a ton of different people to step up, and give of their time and we couldn’t have done it without out them, that’s for sure.”
He said they are exciting about the opening of Noble Farms, and the memories families can make by visiting the farm.
“We are really excited about getting people out there and letting them see what we have done,” he said. “We hope to have some people out there, and just joining in the fun with their kids. At the end of the day, they may be tired, but can say that it was a good day, and create some great memories.
The Noble Farms hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m., and Sunday from 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. to the general public. The farm is also open to groups by reservation only for fall field trips, company outings, youth groups, and so forth by calling 740-280-CORN.
Noble Farms is located on St. Rt. 335, one half of a mile north of the intersection of Lucasville-Minford Rd. and St. Rt. 335.
