West sweeps way to win

The West volleyball team (5-2, 3-1 SOC I) picked up a home victory Thursday evening, sweeping Minford 25-11, 25-8, 25-14 at Portsmouth West High School.

The Senators were led by junior Terra Butcher, who recorded team highs in kills (10) and aces (five). Hannah Dixon also had a big night with seven kills and a team-high seven digs. The West offensive flowed through setter Kayleigh Coleman, who recorded 20 assists throughout the match.

The Senators take the floor again on Monday, when they travel to Fairland for a non-conference match. West will then resume conference play when they travel to South Webster on Tuesday. Minford will also play a non-conference match on Monday, when they travel to take on Peebles. They will then resume conference play when they travel to Oak Hill on Tuesday.
