SCIOTOVILLE — Christ Sanctuary, located at 418 Harding Ave., in Sciotoville, will host a ‘Speak Life Rally,’ on Saturday, Sept. 12, at 6 p.m. The event will feature gospel recording artist, Eddie James.

Michele Vallance, along with her husband, Tom Vallance, serve as youth pastors at Christ Sanctuary. She said their church the Speak Life rally came came into fruition through their concern for children who have been bullied.

“The reason that this began, because our church just kind of had a heart for kids who are being bullied, and all of the different circumstances that have been happening, with kids taking their lives,” Michele Vallance said. “We had our first one last year, and had a former NFL player come and talk to the kids. This year Eddie James is coming, and he has a wonderful ministry.”

She said James’s ministry is an outreach to children who have experience grave problems.

“He actually has a very large group, about 50 kids will be coming with him. The children that he will be bringing come from really bad home lives, and have overcome drug addictions, and some of them have been homeless,” Vallance said.

The Speak Life Rally will be held outdoors, where a stage will be set up for James and his entourage to perform. The event is free and open to the public.

“It is free to everyone, and we would love to have all of the churches to come, and bring their youth groups, we would love to have everyone come out, so that all may be filled with hope,” Vallance said.
