This is a first for me. I haven’t republished a review. As summer comes to a close, I wanted to give another opportunity to read (in my opinion) one of the best films since this column has started. I urge you to go see this film while it’s still in theaters! I’ve watched in four times. With my dad, my brother, my grandpa, and in IMAX. Yes, it is that good. So here it is in all its turning and burning glory. I will make a quick note. I saw Top Gun: Maverick last Saturday again…this time in IMAX. The IMAX screens is a MUCH larger screen than what you are used to. It was AMAZING. I hope you saw it locally last week and now I’m encouraging you to go find the biggest screen possible and watch it again. Watching Maverick and Rooster flying in the skies was a sight to see. I was incredibly impressed. Also the IMAX speakers were so loud it shook our seats..I felt in the skies with them. Even without 20/20 vision. GO SEE THIS FILM.

Shawnee State University’s Vern Riffe Center for the Arts (VRCFA) has announced the 2022-2023 VRCFA Performing Arts Series. Beginning in early Sept. the series features seven shows all to be held in the Eloise Covert Smith Theater.

Where do we begin with this one? Here is the good news. This is a NEW, ORIGINAL, concept. This isn’t a Marvel film, or a sequel, prequel, spin-off etc. As we go to the movies weekly you know most times, we are seeing some type of rehash. Most of them don’t live up to the originals (besides Top Gun: Maverick!) so anytime we get a new, fresh idea it’s exciting.
