Johnson goes “undercover” in the burg

Most of us have watched at least a couple of episodes of “Undercover Boss,” on TV. The owner of a company visits a location in company and disguised as an entry-level employee, learns the actual ins and outs of his company.

On Wednesday, if you happen to notice a new employee at the Patriot Travel Center, located at 109 Ohio 522 in Wheelersburg, it just might be U.S. Congressman Bill Johnson (R-Marietta) who represents Ohio’s Sixth District, which includes part of Scioto County.

From 12:15 – 1:15 p.m. Johnson will don a company uniform and will work side-by-side with employees at the convenience store and restaurant as they go about their typical work day activities serving customers. Johnson will perform duties and tasks for unsuspecting customers before introducing himself.

This event is part of Johnson’s “Undercover Congressman” series which he launched last summer.

Johnson says the series connects him with constituents at their place of employment to better understand the challenges they face in their industry and community.

The events are Obviously based on the popular TV show “Undercover Boss.”

Some of his previous “undercover” stops include a shift behind the counter at the Starfire gas station in Cadiz, performing multiple duties at the Calcutta Giant Eagle, and working at Wendy’s in Cambridge.
