The Clay Lady Panthers defeated the Symmes Valley Lady Vikings 57-52 Thursday night. The win gave Clay an SOC victory over Symmes Valley, as well as a home win.
Scott Cayton’s Lady Panthers were led by Jensen Warnock on offense. She scored 23 points for Clay Thursday evening. She fell just short of a double-double, as she brought down eight rebounds for the Lady Panthers. Warnock finished the night with three assists and two steals.
Lila Brown and Skylar Artis also reached double figures in scoring.
Brown finished with 13 points against Symmes Valley, hitting three three-pointers. Artis hit three three-pointers as well, which contributed to her 11 total points on the night.
Sophie Balestra led Clay with 14 total rebounds.
The Lady Vikings had two players with double figures Thursday evening, Peyton Walsh and Jensyn Shepherd.
Shepherd had 16 points for Symmes Valley, while Walsh contributed 13 points for the Lady Vikings cause.
The Lady Panthers will head north to Lucasville on Monday evening to take on the Valley Lady Indians. Game time is scheduled for 6 p.m.
Symmes Valley will travel to play Rock Hill Monday evening. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
