As Dec. 15, 2015, the first deadline of the open enrollment period, approaches it’s important that those who are already enrolled in a health care plan, go ahead and check out their new health insurance options, shop around, and choose the best possible plan for the coming year.

“Selecting a health plan can sometimes be confusing, and consumers have questions about which plan is best for them,” Trey Daly, Ohio State Director for Enroll America, said. “In our work across Ohio, we have found that a meeting with an enrollment assister is the best place for consumers to get their questions answered and enroll in coverage.”

Daly said, by using the Get Covered Connector, consumers can easily schedule an appointment to sit down with an enrollment assister for free ensuring they can enroll in quality, affordable health coverage.

“With the help of our partners, we’re thrilled to announce these new opportunities for Ohioans,” Kenisha L. Sanders, Ohio Communications Director for Enroll America said.

On Nov. 5 Enroll America announced that their new plan-comparison tool, the Get Covered Plan Explorer, is live and available to consumers who are choosing a plan on the Health Insurance Marketplace, and to the in-person assisters who help them enroll.

The free tool can be found at The Plan Explorer – offered through a partnership with Clear Health Analytics and HealthSherpa – was created after Enroll America research found that nearly half of the uninsured lack confidence in choosing a health insurance plan. Unlike many other plan-comparison tools, the Plan Explorer uses data drawn from cutting-edge artificial intelligence technology to offer each consumer a personalized cost estimate based on their unique characteristics and health care needs.
