“We are in our new station now, everything is all done, and we are having a big event this year,” Cindy Dean said. “We have a full-time fire chief, Brent Dean. He became full-time chief January 1st of this year.”

She said one of the distinguished guests to attend the open house is Smokey The Bear.

“We will have Smokey The Bear here. We will have the smoke house for kids to go through. The Kentucky State Police will be here with their DUI goggles,” she said.

“We will have goodies for the kids to take home, popcorn and cookies for the kids. There will be a variety of literature, and limited amount of smoke detectors that we will be giving out,” she said. “There will also be a helicopter landing, that will be coming in.”

Additionally, attendees will also have the opportunity to watch demonstrations performed by members of the fire department on their ladder truck, as well as demonstrations of their training with props.
