Samuel Campbell, 37, of South Shore, Ky. — who was charged charged with the murder of Sonya Hale, 37, of South Point — is expected to be arraigned on murder and other charges next month.
Hale’s body was discovered in May in a creek in the Brushy Creek area near Campbell’s home in Greenup County, Ky. Hale was reportedly strangled and stomped to death by Campbell.
According to court records, in addition to being charged with murder, Campbell, has also been charged with the kidnapping of Joyce Campbell, as well as tampering with evidence. The indictment indicates that Campbell strangled and stomped to death Sonya Hale.
Campbell remains lodged in the Greenup County Detention Center on a $1 million bond.
