According to reports from the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office, on Friday, June 26, at 11 a.m. the Sheriff’s Office received an allegation of sexual abuse from 12-year-old Lewis County,Ky. resident which led to the arrest of Gary W. Johnson, 55, of Vanceburg, Ky.

Reports state that upon initial investigation, it was determined that there was probable cause to arrest Johnson. He was arrested and lodged in the Lewis County Detention Center. Johnson has been charged with sexual abuse in the first degree with a victim under 12 years of age, which is a Class C felony.

The case remains under investigation by Deputy Bryon Walker.
