Ky. man accused of double murder arrested in Ohio

ASHLAND, Ky, — The Kentucky State Police (KSP) Post 14 in Ashland,Ky. is seeking the public’s assistance for any information relating to the murders of Lois and Michael Gartin of 1234 Knob Branch in Lawrence County, Ky.

On Saturday, April 2, 2016, at 6:14 p.m. The KSP Post 14 in Ashland received a report stating Lois C. Gartin, 79, and Michael Gartin, 52, of 1234 Knob Branch, Blaine, Ky. had been located at the residence and were deceased.

An investigation was launch by KSP Troopers and Detectives who responded to the scene. It was determined that both individuals had sustained fatal gunshot wounds. In addition to the murders, a 2003 Jeep Liberty belonging to Lois Gartin had been stolen from the residence by Stanley Webb Jr., a relative of both of the Gartin victims.

Information and evidence was recovered which led to the arrest warrants obtained on April 2, 2016, Stanley Webb Jr, 47, of Logan Ohio for theft by unlawful taking automobile, convicted felon in possession of firearm.

On Sunday April 3, 2016, at approximately 3:26 p.m. Authorities said Webb was located and arrested by Columbus Ohio Police Department.

KSP Post 14 is seeking any and all information of the public regarding the murder of Lois and Michael Gartin. All calls will remain anonymous, and may be directed to KSP at 606-928-6421.

An ongoing investigation is being conducted by Detective David Boarman, according to authorities at KSP Post 14.
