The Portsmouth Trojans have found success on the road yet again, as their five game road trip continues. Portsmouth continued their winning ways by defeating the Peebles Indians, 64-55, Saturday at Peebles High School.
Gene Collins’ squad finished the night with four players in double figures, making the night difficult for the Indians.
The contest had several lead changes, before the Trojans pulled away to move on to their nine point victory.
Once again, Kyre Allison had a remarkable game, to help lead the Trojans. Allison scored 24 points Saturday, wreaking havoc on the Peebles defense. Allison was also successful from the free throw line, shooting 91%, as he hit 10 of his 11 attempts.
Kendall Reynolds scored 14 points for Portsmouth on Saturday, as he continues to have solid performances on the hardwood all season. Reynolds hit two of the six three-pointers Portsmouth had against Peebles, and went two for four from the free throw line.
Mike Malone had a big night from behind the arc, as he hit four three-pointers against the Indians. Malone finished the night with 12 points, hitting one trey in each quarter.
Rounding out the four Trojans with double figures was Ethan Leonard, who put up 10 points for the Trojan cause. Leonard shot a perfect four for four from the free throw line, all of which came in the fourth quarter.
The Trojans will travel to Ironton on Tuesday evening to take on the Fighting Tigers at Ironton High School. Tipoff is scheduled for around 8:00 p.m.
