The Green Bobcats picked up an SOC I road win over the Western Indians Friday night. The Bobcats came away with a 61-51 win, picking up an all-important conference road win.
“It was a hard fought game, and my kids just kept battling and battling,” Green coach Dirk Hollar said. “Everytime they got close, we responded.”
The Bobcats had a great night from their younger players.
“Zach Garrett, a sophomore, hit some big shots in the first and second half,” Hollar said. “Tanner Kimbler hit some big threes and Tayte Carver came up with two big steals and finished with 15 points.”
Tarver led the team in scoring, while Garrett finished the night with 13 points. Kimbler and Andy Chavarria each added 12 points to the Bobcat cause.
Western had three players in double figures. Dylan Stevens led the Indians with 12 points on the night. Bryce Brewster and Tanner Perdue each scored 11 for Western.
Hollar was very pleased with his team’s play and attitude Friday night.
“They played 150% and refused to lose,” Hollar said. “This was big conference win on the road. I’m very proud of these boys.”
Western will be on the road in Peebles, to take on the Peebles Indians Saturday. That game will tip at 7:30 p.m.
The Bobcats will travel to South Webster on Tuesday to face the Jeeps. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
