KYTC crews continue to treat roads as needed

FLEMINGSBURG, Ky. — As of 3 p.m. on Tuesday, most of the snow has moved out of the region, with only spotty showers being reported.

Kentucky Department of Highways District 9 crews continue to treat roads with salt as needed in Bath, Boyd, Carter, Elliott, Fleming, Greenup, Lewis, Mason, Nicholas and Rowan counties.

Most highways are classified as wet pavement, with some partly-covered areas possible in Carter and Greenup counties expected to clear in the next hour or two. Air and road temps are both around 30 degrees.

Motorists traveling today, watch for changing conditions and possible ice on bridges, valleys and hills as temperatures continue to fall. Overnight, refreezing is a possibility. Drivers beware, and take it slow.

With temperatures expected to plummet overnight, ice and refreezing will be concerns. Crews are now on 12-hour shifts and will remain on duty to keep roads clear until the wintry weather threat subsides.
