After losing to Wheelersburg on Monday night, the South Webster Lady Jeeps were able to rebound, and pick up a big SOC road win over the Waverly Lady Tigers, 58-43, Thursday night, in Waverly.
The Lady Jeeps led throughout the game, on their way to picking up their victory over the Lady Tigers. In the first quarter, South Webster held Waverly to only eight points, while scoring 14 points.
South Webster continued to maintain a small lead going into halftime, leading Waverly by only five points, 24-19.
The second half would prove to be too much for Waverly however. The Lady Jeeps had their largest offensive production in the second half, scoring 16 and then 18 points in the third and fourth quarters.
Leading the way for the Lady Jeeps was Ellie Jo Johnson, who had an incredible night, scoring 27 points. Johnson also went a perfect 11 for 11 from the free throw line, in the win over Waverly.
Cheyenne Weakley also found double figures for the Lady Jeeps, ending the night with 11 points.
Waverly’s Laken Smith also had a tremendous night, despite the loss. Her 21 points led all other Lady Tigers in scoring. She also was perfect from the free throw line, hitting all four of her attempts.
Kilee Perdue added 15 points to the Lady Tigers cause Thursday night.
Waverly will travel to McDermott on Monday night to take on the Northwest Lady Mohawks. Tipoff is scheduled to take place at about 7:30 p.m.
Kristie Johnson’s Lady Jeeps will be in action Saturday afternoon at Fairland High School, taking part in the Tri State Hoops Showdown. South Webster will take on Spring Valley (WV), and will have a scheduled 2:45 p.m. tipoff.
