LUCASVILLE — The Scioto County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a double homicide that apparently occurred Wednesday night.
Dead are Bobby Dehart, 83, and Nancy Culp, 62, both of 248 A Greenbriar Road in Lucasville.
Scioto County Sheriff Marty V. Donini said his office received a 911 call at 9:47 p.m. from a woman stating that her husband had gone over to check on the neighbors because he saw lights on and it was unusual for lights to be on during that time of night. The woman said her husband saw two people inside lying on the floor not moving.
Donini said deputies and detectives responded to 248 Greenbriar Road and upon arrival found two people to be deceased inside. BCI&I was contacted to respond and process the scene. Detectives are currently handling the case as a homicide.
“We got out there around 10 o’clock last night, and they cleared out about 8 this (Thursday) morning,” Chief Deputy Todd Miller said.
The bodies of both victims have been sent to Montgomery County for an autopsy.
Donini said his office is not releasing the cause of death at this time pending the investigation.
