The following is a press release issued Nov. 19 by Greenup, Ky., attorney Bruce MacDonald. Watch this website and/or tomorrow’s Portsmouth Daily Times for a full story.
A lawsuit has been filed on behalf of juvenile victims claiming physical and sexual abuse perpetrated upon them by other juveniles. The claims of abuse occurred on October 15th and 16th during a three-day field trip taken by Minford Middle schoolers and teachers October 15th through 17th, 2018, at the Tim Horton Camp Kentahten located in Campbellsville, Kentucky.
The lawsuit alleges the school system failed to adequately train the teacher chaperones who failed to monitor and protect the juveniles. Allegations include the minors were sexually harassed, assaulted and attacked by other juveniles, some on multiple occasions. These assaults occurred in cabins occupied by students and teachers. The victims claim teachers were informed of the assaults but failed to prevent further assaults from occurring. Additional allegations include failure of the teachers to report these assaults to law enforcement, the juvenile’s parents or otherwise take reasonable action to protect the victims from the perpetrators.
This lawsuit has been filed in the United States Federal District Court and the victim’s attorneys include Bruce W. MacDonald, (606) 473-7303 who would ask any person who has knowledge of the misconduct which occurred on this field trip or otherwise, involving the Minford, Ohio, school system to call with any such information.
