The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal commercial vehicle crash in Pee Pee Township in Pike County.
At approximately 6:01 p.m. Tuesday, a 2006 Freightliner Cascadia, driven by Willie Wilson, age 48, of Lawrenceville, Georgia was turning northbound onto U.S. Route 23 from a private drive when the driver allegedly failed to yield and was struck by a 2012 Dodge Grand Caravan, driven by Shannon Sparks, age 76, of Waverly.
Sparks was traveling southbound on U.S. Route 23, near mile marker 14 in Pike County. He succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Wilson was not injured.
The crash remains under investigation, according to the state patrol.
