The Lucasville Valley Lady Indians got a win over their SOC II rival the Portsmouth West Lady Senators.
Valley edged out West Wednesday evening in extra innings, to get a 2-1 win over the Lady Senators after nine innings.
Faith Brown went the distance for Valley, pitching all nine innings, and getting the win. She gave up seven hits and one run, which was unearned. Brown showed good control of the strike-zone, as she only walked one batter, and struck out five.
West’s Taylor Coleman showed her endurance as well, pitching all nine innings for the Lady Senators. The West hurler gave up six hits, two runs, one earned, and walked two Valley batters. She also struck out four Lady Indians in the loss.
Margie Cauldwell and Hannah Conley led the Lady Indians on offense, as each player had two hits on the night. Cauldwell scored a run, while Conley drove in a run and scored once.
Terra Butcher went 2-4 at the plate for the Lady Senators, leading her team in hits in the loss to Valley.
The Lady Indians will host the Lady Senators on Friday evening in Lucasville. First pitch has been set for 5:00 p.m.
