CARROLL — In a decisive three sets, the 2021 South Webster Lady Jeeps volleyball team defeated Newark Catholic (25-15, 25-22, 25-13) in a Division IV Regional Final at Bloom Carroll high school — winning the program’s first-ever regional championship.
South Webster becomes the third volleyball team from Scioto County to advance to the state tournament at Wright State University, Clay doing so in Division IV (2018) and Wheelersburg in Division III (2021).
The Lady Jeeps will face New Knoxville in the D-IV state semifinals on Thursday, Nov. 11 at the Nutter Center at 6:00 p.m. New Knoxville defeated defending state champion Tiffin Calvert 3-1 (26-28, 25-23, 25-23, 25-22) in their regional final on Saturday.
The winner will advance to the D-IV state championship to be played on Saturday, Nov. 13 at 1:00 p.m.
