West downs Ripley, 12-3

The Portsmouth West Senators soundly defeated the Ripley Blue Jays Monday evening in West Portsmouth. The Senators jumped out to a big lead after one inning, and sailed the rest of the way to a 12-3 victory.

Cody Finley and Dylan Bradford split pitching duties Monday.

Finley pitched three and one-third innings, giving up two hits and three runs, all earned. He walked three batters, and finished with six strike outs. He was also the pitcher of record, getting the win for the Senators.

Bradford finished the night pitching three and two-thirds innings, giving up no hits, and walking one batter. He also led all pitchers on the night with seven strikeouts.

Two Senators picked up a trio of hits, Garrett Hurd, and Austin Opperman. Hurd had two singles and a double, while Opperman had three singles.

Cody Wiltshire and Opperman led the Senators with two RBIs each.

The Senators will take the field again on Wednesday, as they host fellow SOC foe, the Northwest Mohawks. First pitch has been set for 4:30 p.m.
