Staff Report

McDERMOTT — Lexi Throckmorton pitched a complete game in the Northwest Lady Mohawks win over Eastern Brown on Saturday — the second of two games in their double header versus the visiting Lady Warriors.

Although they fell 8-5 in the first matchup with EB, Northwest (4-13, 3-4 SOC II) rebounded in the second game and held their guests scoreless after the first inning and cruised to a 5-1 victory.

In the winning effort, Throckmorton and Northwest’s defense allowed seven hits, one earned run, and struck out eight EB hitters.

A Tayler Butler two RBI single in the first inning gave the Lady Mohawks a 2-1 lead, scoring Hayley Hawes and Jaclyn Burchett from second and third base.

In the bottom of the fourth, a three-run homer by Lydia Emmons scored Brooke Hawes and Alyssa Ferguson and gave Northwest a 4-run advanage with one out.
