Lady Bears receive honors

PORTSMOUTH, Ohio – The Shawnee State women’s basketball team continues to excel on the court and in the classroom, as three Bears were named Academic All-Mid-South honorees, conference officials announce Wednesday Morning.

Madison Ridout led the Bears with a 3.90 grade point average. The sophomore Jackson, Ohio native is majoring in early childhood education. The next recipient for the Shawnee State women’s basketball team was Portsmouth, Ohio native Jen Arnzen, who finished with a 3.50. Arnzen is currently majoring in Early Childhood Education.

The third and final member receiving All-MSC honors was Ali Zieverink. Zieverink, a West Chester, Ohio native, earned a 3.37 GPA and will graduate this spring with a degree in Psychology.

The SSU women’s basketball team will return to action Thursday against St. Catharine College in the Mid-South Conference Championship Quarterfinals. The game is scheduled for a 6 p.m. tip-off at the Frankfort Convention Center.
