WEST UNION — By limiting West Union to eight points or less in each of the four quarters of Wednesday’s 21-point (45-24) road win, the Northwest Lady Mohawks managed to defeat the Lady Dragons — and improve their mark to 13-4.
Senior Terah Webb sank half of Northwest’s made threes in the win, leading all scorers with a game-high 10 points on four made field goals — seven of which came in the second half.
Juniors Ava Jenkins and Kloe Montgomery aided the Lady Mohawks on the offensive end, as they built up an 18-9 halftime lead over West Union.
Jenkins scored six of her eight in the first half, with Montgomery adding four of her six in the first quarter.
Seniors Haidyn Wamsley and Valerie Copas each scored six points in the second half, with Wamsley totaling nine points on three field goals and 2-of-2 foul shots — and Copas netting a quartet of two-point tries.
Reagan Lewis and Audrey Knittel each added two points in the win, as the Lady Mohawks led at every stop.
West Union was led by Alexa Rowe’s team-high eight points on three made shots and a lone free throw.
Northwest is set to travel to South Webster on Saturday for its second Southern Ohio Conference Division II meeting with the Lady Jeeps since Monday — when the Lady Mohawks prevailed 57-40.
