Notre Dame 3, Eastern 1 (25-19, 18-25, 25-17, 25-22)
BEAVER — The Notre Dame Lady Titans improved to 5-1 on the season with a four-set win over the host Eastern Eagles, a matchup between two former Southern Ohio Conference Division I rivals.
The Lady Titans and Lady Eagles split the first two sets in Wednesday’s contest in Beaver, before Notre Dame held on to win sets three and four.
Claire Dettwiller had a team-high 20 kills to lead Notre Dame.
Ava Hassel had 13 kills and 22 assists, while Annie Dettwiller finished with 10 kills and 14 assists.
Hassel also led the Lady Titans with a team-high 30 digs, followed by Mallory Boland’s 11.
Freshman Gwen Sparks and seniors Claire Dettwiller and Chloe Delabar each had one block.
Notre Dame returns to conference action next week, when it travels to East on Tuesday and hosts New Boston on Thursday.
Wheelersburg 3, Jackson 0 (25-8, 25-14, 25-17)
JACKSON — The Wheelersburg Lady Pirates won their second match in as many days, sweeping the host Jackson Ironladies in three sets on Wednesday.
Lauren Jolly, the senior setter for the Lady Pirates who has already passed the 1,000-career assist threshold, tallied 37 assists and nine digs in the straight-set victory over Jackson.
Kylee Barney led the Lady Pirates with a team-high 12 kills, while Kaylee Darnell, Emily Boggs and Ryleigh Meeker each had 10.
Darnell additionally had nine digs, while Boggs finished with 13.
Kiera Kennard had a team-high 15 digs in the win.
Wheelersburg returned to conference play on Thursday when it traveled to Oak Hill.

Valley 6, Peebles 2
LUCASVILLE — Valley netted five second-half goals, besting visiting Peebles in Lucasville to improve to 3-1-1.
Davey Petry scored the game’s first two goals with the first coming at the 18-minute mark of the first half — the half’s lone goal from either team.
Each of Petry’s goals came via an A.J. Johnson assist, including his second which came in the sixth minute of the second half.
Austin Sommers made it 3-0 Valley in the 13th minute after an assist from Lucie Ashkettle. ‘
Johnson scored a goal via penalty kick, just two minutes later in the 15th minute of the second half, improving the Indians’ lead to 4-2.
Peebles netted the game’s next two goals — at the 18-minute mark and the 29-minute mark.
After the back-to-back Peebles goals, Valley’s Chase Ruby scored in the 37th minute off an assist from Bryce Stuart — and Stuart scored a goal of his own just a minute later off an assist from Sommers.
Valley traveled to Wheelersburg on Thursday, before hosting Clay in SOC I play next Tuesday.
