Northwest 40 (19-4, 12-3 SOC II), Minford 39 (9-14, 7-9 SOC II)
The Northwest Lady Mohawks celebrated Senior Night for Keirah Potts on Monday evening with a 40-39 victory over visiting Minford in a Southern Ohio Conference Division II makeup matchup.
Potts is the Lady Mohawks’ only senior, although Valerie Copas scored the go-ahead —and eventual game-winning —basket with 27 seconds remaining.
The game was the final for Minford this season, as Northwest —which has also been eliminated from Division III postseason tournament play —welcomes Waverly on Thursday for its SOC II and season finale.
Game time is set for 6 p.m.

Valley 48 (6-17, 3-13 SOC II), Waverly 41 (12-10, 7-8 SOC II)
The Valley Lady Indians ended their season on Monday evening with a victory, defeating visiting Waverly 48-41 in a Southern Ohio Conference Division II makeup matchup.
Both teams have been eliminated from postseason tournament play, but Waverly will travel to Northwest on Thursday for its SOC II and season finale.
The victorious Lady Indians got all but six points from their five seniors: Brooklyn Buckle, Bre Call, Karsyn Conaway, Nichole Gilliland and Mackenzie Wright.
Call led the way with 18 points including three three-pointers, while Gilliland scored a dozen points on six baskets.

Boys Regular Season
Minford 42 (12-9, 9-7 SOC II), Valley 41 (8-14, 6-10 SOC II)
The visiting Minford Falcons rallied from a 37-31 fourth-quarter deficit to edge archrival Valley 42-41, and spoiled the Indians’ Southern Ohio Conference Division II and regular-season finale.
Minford doubled up the Indians 10-5 in the opening quarter, before leading 18-17 at halftime and 31-27 following three frames.
Valley then reeled off the opening 10 points of the final period, but the Falcons flew past the Indians and completed the season sweep with an 11-5 run to end the game.
Valley celebrated its Senior Night by honoring its duo of Kayden Mollette and Mason Zaler.
Both clubs compete in postseason tournament action on Wednesday —with Minford facing Coal Grove in a Division III sectional semifinal at Waverly’s Downtown Arena while Valley meets Miller in a Division IV sectional semifinal at Northwest High School.
Tipoff time for both bouts is set for 8 p.m.
