The Valley Indians picked up an SOC II win over the Portsmouth West Senators Friday evening in West Portsmouth. The Indians defeated the Senators 69-60.
The Indians offense relied on senior Bryan Rolfe, who didn’t disappoint his team or their fans. Rolfe was responsible for just over half of Valley’s total offensive production. His 35 points led all other players on the court.
Rolfe recorded 14 field goals in the game against West, four of which came by way of the three-pointer. He was also perfect from the free throw line, sinking all three of his attempts.
Two other Indians finished with double figure points, Blake Howard, and Aaron Linne.
Howard scored 12 points for Valley, including two three-pointers. Linne added 11 points to the Indian cause, scoring all his points in the first half.
Scott Davis’ Senators had two players reach double digit scoring, Tre Patrick, and Jordan Frasure.
Patrick scored 25 points on the night, the highest of all Senators. His three three-pointers and perfect 4-4 shooting from the free throw line were essential for Senators.
Frasure’s 12 points for the Senators was good enough to be the second highest on the night for West. He scored nine of his 12 points in the second half.
West will travel to McDermott Tuesday night as they take on the Northwest Mohawks. Gametime is set for 7:30 p.m.
The Indians will play again on Tuesday at home as they host the Oak Hill Oaks. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
