New Boston beats East in SOC I affair

Sophomore Ali Hamilton scored 14 points and grabbed 17 rebounds as the New Boston Tigers picked up their first SOC I victory with a 47-18 victory over the East Tartans.

Senior Cammy Oiler scored 14 points and record eight rebounds while sophomore Mariah Buckley finished with 10 points, six assists and four steals to secure the victory for New Boston. Kaylee Stone recorded four points but also added eight rebounds, three blocked shots and two steals.

“All-around good effort with a lot of heart and discipline to stay hungry when our shots weren’t falling at the start,” Tigers head coach Kayla Wiley said. “We started off the season very slow but I think now that we got that win under our belt, great things are going to come.”

New Boston travels to Clay on Thursday.
