WILLOW WOOD – East fell in their SOC I road contest with Symmes Valely 39-8, Friday in Willow Wood.
After facing the Vikings earlier in the season, a 49-8 non-league win by Symmes Valley in Sciotoville, East knew the Vikings would be a tough test the second time these two faced in league play.
Friday’s loss to Symmes Valley drops the Tartans to 1-6 (0-3 SOC I) while the Vikings improved to 7-1 (3-0 SOC I).
Josh Ferguson and Ethan Patterson led the Vikings rushing attack in Friday’s win. Patterson finished with eight carries, 69 yards, and three rushing scores in Friday’s win while Ferguson, the Vikings leading rusher, finished with 118 yards on seven carries with three rushings scores.
The Tartans lone points in Friday’s loss came in the fourth quarter when freshman Leviticus Justice scored on a one yard rush followed by Chase Coyle’s two point conversion rush. Justice led the Tartans rushing efforts Friday with 75 yards on 18 carries.
East will prepare to host SOC I rival Green while Symmes Valley prepares to host Notre Dame.
