The Minford Lady Falcons defeated the Northwest Lady Mohawks 73-41 Monday night in McDermott, in an SOC matchup. Minford (2-1) had five players reach double digit scoring.
“Tonight was a good team win for us,” Minford coach Scott Caudill said.
Northwest started the game strong, playing with more energy than the Lady Falcons in the beginning of the first quarter. However, the Lady Falcons thrived off a great performance by Abby Grasso, who went on a 9-0 run toward the end of the first quarter, giving Minford the lead, 15-9.
Mary Pica answered the Lady Falcon call and began dominating on the boards, bringing down numerous rebounds and getting Minford out into transition.
“Our players started to attack more, and move the ball around quicker,” Caudill said.
Minford was led in scoring by Erin Daniels, who finished with 15 points. Four other Lady Falcons joined Daniels in double digit scoring, Ashley Blankenship 14, Marissa Risner 11, Abby Grasso 11, and Ali Hammond with 10 points.
