The Waverly Lady Tigers defeated the Oak Hill Lady Oaks Monday night in Oak Hill, by a final score of 55-30.

The Lady Tigers were led on offense by Morgan Wiseman, who finished the night with 24 points on the evening. Wiseman also brought down three rebounds, and added five steals on defense for Waverly.

One other Lady Tiger reached double figures in points Monday evening, Laken Smith. Smith had an impressive game, earning a double-double by scoring 13 points, and bringing down 11 rebounds. She also picked up four assists, and two steals during the game.

“This team continues to learn and grow,” Waverly coach John Bonifield said. “They are starting to understand what we asking of them and are becoming comfortable in their roles on our team.”

Bonifield said getting a conference win on the road was a nice reward for his team’s hard work, and that it wasn’t easy for the Lady Tigers to come out as winners against a strong Oak Hill team.

“Our ball pressure was outstanding tonight and we were able to capitalize on their turnovers,” Bonifield said. “Morgan (Wiseman) had a great shooting night and we need her to keep knocking down shots if teams are going to double and triple team Laken.”

Oak Hill was led by Kacey Riley on offense, in the loss to Waverly. Riley scored 12 points for the Lady Oaks, all from three-point land.

Waverly will travel to South Webster for their next game, on Thursday. Tipoff is slated for 7:30 p.m.

Oak Hill will play Valley on Thursday evening, in Lucasville. That game has a 7:30 p.m. tipoff.
