PORTSMOUTH, Ohio – The Shawnee State University Athletic Department is pleased to announce a new event for the department as the Shawnee Showcase will be held on Thursday, Oct. 29 at the Frank & Janis Waller Gymnasium on the campus of Shawnee State University.

The event, which will commence at approximately 7 p.m. and last until 9 p.m., will feature the volleyball squad as well as the women’s and men’s basketball programs and will consist of several competitions that will highlight the evening’s festivities.

After all three teams take the floor, all three programs and their members will be introduced to the crowd.

The Shawnee Showcase will then allow the fans to get involved early and often as the event will officially start with a serve competition for volleyball, where an individual can try to not only get a service ace, but win a prize, as well.

Following the serve competition, Shawnee Showcase attendees will also be invited to participate in the countdown competition as the fans will participate in a timed obstacle course akin to the norm.

After those events conclude, the men’s and women’s basketball teams will take to the floor as the pair will battle for supremacy in two events, with the duo participating in another skills contest as well as a three-point shootout.

Lastly, the Shawnee Showcase will conclude Thursday night’s action by hosting a slam dunk contest, which will feature players from the men’s basketball team along with fans who believe that they can rise up with the best of them.

Admission to the Shawnee Showcase is free of charge to all who attend. For more information, contact Delano Thomas at [email protected].
