On Monday, the Southeast District released their all district teams for 2018 which included a number of players from Scioto County.
The South Webster Jeeps received a lot of praise on the all-district awards list following their SOC I championship and regional semifinal appearance for the third season in a row. Head coach Corey Claxon was named boys’ division III coach of the year and Jeeps assistant Kirby Claxon was named boys’ division III assistant coach of the year. Jeeps senior Shiloah Blevins was named Division III district player of the year and was named to the all-district first team alongside teammate Jacob Ruth. South Webster’s Michael Andrews and Samuel Holstein were both named to the second team while teammates Ty Collins and Braden Martin were named as honorable mentions.
The SOC II outright champion Wheelersburg Pirates were also well represented in the Division III all-district honors. Aaron Jolly and Athan Temponeras were named to the all-district first team, Eric Green and Chayden Holbrook were named to the second team, and Will Darling and David Woodring were named honorable mentions.
The SOC II champions in 2017, the Northwest Mohawks also had several named to the all-district teams including: Evan Throckmorton and Chase McClay to the first team, Trent Deemer and Cody Mosley to the second team, as well as Jeremiah Bruch and Brayden Campbell being named as honorable mentions.
The Minford Falcons were represented on the all-district lists by Talen Coriell and Michael Patrick who were named to the first team, Brayden Davis and Adam Cordle who were named to the second team, and Skyler Knore and Evan Wheeler who were named honorable mentions.
The runner ups in the SOC I race, the Clay Panthers, were represented on the all district lists by Boris Smit who was named to the first team, Clay Cottle and Bryce Toomire who were named to the second team, and Reece Whitley and Evan Woods who were named as honorable mentions.
The team that upset Clay in their opening sectional match in route to eventually defeating Northwest in their sectional championship match, the Valley Indians, were represented on the all-district teams by Cameron Phillips who made the first team, Hunter Greathouse and Austin Sommers who made the second team, and Landen Christman and Trevon Donini who were named as honorable mentions.
The Glenwood Tigers were represented on the all-district lists by Malachi Potts and Kyle Sexton who were named to the first team.
The following schools were awarded the team sportsmanship award which indicates no one on their team received a red card throughout the season: Glenwood, Northwest, South Webster, Valley, and Wheelersburg.
