Wilmington, Ohio – Shawnee State men’s and women’s cross country competed in the Jenna Strong Fall Classic at Wilmington College on Friday.
SSU’s men finished in second place behind Miami (Ohio) with a total team time of 2:08.47, scoring 86 total points. Seth Farmer was SSU’s best finisher of the evening, placing third overall with a time of 24:57.3. SSU also got strong finishes from Hunter Hoover and Josh Metzung, who finished in 13th and 14th place respectively with times of 25:41.4 for Hoover and 25:42.9 for Metzung.
SSU’s women placed seventh overall with an overall time of 1:38.58, scoring 258 points. Marissa Smith was Shawnee State’s best finisher, placing 18th overall with a time of 18:56.1. Jessica Price also made the top 30, placing 29th overall with a time of 19:16.7.
Shawnee State cross country return to action on Saturday, October 20 at the Great Lakes Invitational, hosted by Aquinas College in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
