OHSAA announces volleyball district seeding

On Sunday, the OHSAA announced the Division III and IV seedings for the southeast district tournaments.

In the Waverly 1 district in Division III, the number one seed is the Wheelersburg Pirates who have a record of 16-0 heading into their final week of the regular season. The Pirates will face West Union on Tuesday October 16th at 6 p.m. for their chance to advance to face the winner of Westfall and Peebles on Saturday October 20th at 4 p.m.

Also in the Waverly 1 district are the three seed Minford Falcons who have a record of 15-3 going into the final week of regular season play. The Falcons will open their sectional by playing the Portsmouth Trojans who have a record of 5-9 going into the final week of the regular season. The Falcons and the Trojans will face off on Tuesday October 16th at 6 p.m. In the sectional below Minford and Portsmouth is the Northwest Mohawks who have a record of 8-9 going into the final week of regular season play. The Mohawks will face off against Adena in their sectional matchup on Tuesday October 16th at 6 p.m.

In the Waverly 2 district is the seventh seeded South Webster Jeeps and the fifteenth seeded Portsmouth West Senators. The Jeeps, who have a record of 12-7 going into their final week of the regular season, are slated to face off against the Piketon Redstreaks in their sectional match on Tuesday October 16th at 6 p.m. The Senators, who have a record of 1-14 going into their final week of regular season play, are slated to face off against Huntington on Tuesday October 16th at 6 p.m.

In the Jackson 1 district in Division 4 is the number one seeded Clay Panthers who have a record of 16-3 heading into their final week of regular season play. The Panthers will play the winner of Glenwood, the number eight seed, and White Oak, the number nine seed, on Thursday October 18th at 6 p.m. Glenwood will face White Oak to determine who will move on to face Clay on Monday October 15th at 6 p.m. Also in the Jackson 1 district is the eleventh seeded East Tartans who have a record of 0-16 heading into their final week of regular season play. The Tartans will face the Manchester Greyhounds on Monday October 16th at 6:00 p.m. to determine who will face Eastern Pike on Thursday October 18th.

There are three teams from Scioto County in the Jackson 2 district in Division IV. The Valley Indians will face the Green Bobcats on Monday October 15th in a sectional matchup to determine who will face the second seeded Notre Dame Titans on Thursday October 18th. The winner of the matchup between Notre Dame and Valley/Green will advance to the district semifinals in Jackson on Thursday October 25th.
