On Sunday afternoon, the OHSAA announced the seeding for the Division III southeast district tournament for girls’ soccer.
The Northwest Mohawks, who have a record of 3-7-0 heading into the final week of the season, were seeding eighth in the Waverly 1 district. They will face the ninth seeded Piketon Redsteaks, who have a record of 3-10 heading into the final week of the regular season on Saturday October 10th at 5:00 p.m. in their opening sectional game. The winner of this game will go on to play Lynchburg-Clay, the number one seed in this district on Tuesday October 17th for a chance at the district semi-final on Tuesday October 23rd at 5:00 p.m. at Waverly High School.
The Minford Falcons, who have a record of 4-7-0 heading into the final week of the regular season, were seeded 7th in the same district as Northwest. The Falcons will face the Portsmouth West Senators, who have a record of 0-13-0 heading into their final week of the regular season, on Saturday October 13th at 5 p.m. The winner of this game will face Wheelersburg Pirates, who have a record of 12-1-0 heading into the last week of the regular season, for a spot in the district semifinals. The second seeded Pirates will host the winner of this matchup on Tuesday October 17th.
