Wheelersburg volleyball remains unbeaten

The Wheelersburg volleyball team (4-0, 4-0 SOC II) added to its undefeated record on Thursday when they swept Oak Hill 25-10, 25-12, 25-17.

The Pirates were led by senior Marley Hanzel, who came up with a team-high 14 kills. She also added six digs on the match. Fellow senior Sydney Holden also recorded six digs to go along with seven points and six kills.

Sophomore libero Ellie Ruby proved to be Wheelersburg’s top server on the game, as she recorded a team-high 16 points.

Setter Kasey Bergan helped pace the Pirate offense with 25 assists to go with 10 points.

The Pirates take the court on Saturday, when they host a double-header with North Adams and Portsmouth beginning at 11 a.m.
