The Portsmouth volleyball team had its 15-match OVC winning streak snapped on Wednesday, when the Trojans fell to Gallia Academy 24-26, 24-26, 15-25.

Despite the loss, Aiden Fields had a strong showing for the Trojans, coming up with 10 kills, five blocks and five digs. Baleigh Bradley proved to be the defensive leader for Portsmouth with 12 digs.

Portsmouth’s loss came off the back of a four-game win over Rock Hill on Tuesday evening. The Trojans defeated the Redwomen 25-20, 21-25, 25-14, 25-14. Bailey Horsley led the way for the Trojans in that match, scoring a team-high 16 points, five of which were aces. Anna Marie Raies recorded 10 kills and eight blocks, while Allison Douthat recorded a double-double with 33 assists and 10 digs.

The Trojans take the court again on Saturday, when they face off with Wheelersburg and North Adams in a tri-match at Wheelersburg.
