PRP regular schedule cut short due to rain

Fans, drivers can redeem tickets, pit passes

Staff Report

On Saturday, Portsmouth Raceway Park hosted over 100 race teams and a wonderful set of racing, but unfortunately, the evening was cut short due to inclement weather.

The rain began to fall after fans were treated to a Late Model Dash, three late model heats, three modified heats, and a couple of limited late model heats. The storms rolled in as the first of three sport mod heats was on the track.

The racing that fans were able to see was phenomenal. The Late Model Dash had one of the closest finishes in PRP history as Rod Conley held off Brandon Fouts by .016 seconds.

The evening featured one of the highest Late Model car counts of the season as 34 Late Model racers were on hand.

The show will not be rescheduled. Fans and drivers will be able to use their tickets and pit passes for any other race this season excluding Lucas Oil shows.

Next Saturday, PRP will welcome the return of winged sprint cars as the Ohio Valley Sprint Car Association (OVSCA) visits PRP. Modifieds, limited lates, and sport modifieds will also be a part of the official card.
